What does the Bible say about sex?

Paul makes the point immediately in chapter 7 that we are to be in committed marriage relationships OR we are not engage in sexual relations.
1Corinthians 7:2-3 Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.
3 Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband.

God's Word makes it clear over and over again that sexual immorality should not be practiced, yet what do we see glorified over and over in our culture.
I heard someone say years ago (keep in mind, they are not saved and do not know The Word of God at all, so I don't know where they received this)...but they said that 'The Bible says that sex is only for reproduction and that is it'.....WRONG!  That statement is exactly wrong.  In verse 5 Paul says, not only are we to be submissive to our spouses sexually, but we are not to deprive them, lest they be tempted by Satan.

1Corinthians 7:5 Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

Paul encourages people to stay single and serve The Lord, but if they lack the self-control to stay sexually pure, they should get married lest they burn with passion.
1Corinthians 7:8-9 But I say to the unmarried and to the widows: It is good for them if they remain even as I am;
9 but if they cannot exercise self-control, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion.

In verse 18 Paul addresses circumcision, but I think we can safely make the parallel to any religious act.  Paul says, whatever your condition was as it relates to circumcision when you were saved, stay there because the religious act means NOTHING.  If you are of the mind that some religious act you preformed in your life saves you, repent of that mindset, it is of the devil.  So, if religious acts amount to NOTHING, what matters:
1Corinthians 7:19 Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing, but keeping the commandments of God is what matters.

Many of us have bought in to the lies of this world regarding pre-marital sex.  Most of us have engaged in pre-marital sex before we were saved and even after we thoought we were saved.  We need to remember, Our Creator is a God of new beginnings.  If you are living a sinful lifestyle repent and be renewed by Jesus today.  If you feel the weight of conviction that you now realize that the pre-marital sex you engaged in before you were married remains unconfessed sin, call out to God today, remember His promise in 1John:

1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
