Now that's some strong Breath!

The Word of God warns us many times not to be deceived. In the case of 2Thessalonians the primary warning is not to b e deceived that the Day of Lord has already happened. There will be no mistaking the Day of The Lord. We will not show up to work the next day going, “what happened?”

One of the items Paul makes clear is that the one commonly referred to as the anti-christ will come to power before the Day of The Lord. This man, empowered by Satan, will demand worship and he will sit in the temple and claim to be God Himself. This evil being will be granted the ability to do signs and wonders and will deceive many. Before we get caught up in feeling bad for those that will be deceieved, we need to understand that the ones being deceived are those that have clearly chosen to feed their flesh with all the lusts of this world instead of serving Jesus.

2Thessalonians 2:3-7 Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4 who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God. 5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6 And you know what is restraining him now so that he may be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way.

1John 2:17-18 And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. 18 Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour.

2Thessalonians 2:8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, 10 and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false,

Romans 1:28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.

2Thessalonians 2:12 in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Romans 1:32 Though they know God's decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

In light of this, we are to hold fast in the traditions of the epistles. If you find it in the epistles follow it; do not follow the traditions of man:

2Thessalonians 2:14-17 To this he called you through our gospel, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by our spoken word or by our letter. 16 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, 17 comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.
1Corinthians 16:13 Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.

Revelation 1:5 and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood

1Corinthians 1:8 who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
