What do angels do?

When you read Hebrews 1 you get the sense that the original recipients of this letter had people in it's midst that were reducing Jesus to a mere man or an angel.  This shouldn't be surprising to us; that is one of the characteristics of false religion, false teaching and those trying to cause division. False religions almost always strip Jesus Christ of His deity.

In very quick fashion, the writer of Hebrews establishes and makes clear the deity of Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 1:8 But to the Son He says: "YOUR THRONE, O GOD, IS FOREVER AND EVER; A SCEPTER OF RIGHTEOUSNESS IS THE SCEPTER OF YOUR KINGDOM.

Hebrews 1:10 And: "YOU, LORD, IN THE BEGINNING LAID THE FOUNDATION OF THE EARTH, AND THE HEAVENS ARE THE WORK OF YOUR HANDS.

Hebrews 1:13 But to which of the angels has He ever said: "SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND, TILL I MAKE YOUR ENEMIES YOUR FOOTSTOOL"?

God's Word makes it clear that He is the only One to be worshiped and we see in Hebrews 1 that the angels worship Jesus; giving us further evidence of His divinity. But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says: "LET ALL THE ANGELS OF GOD WORSHIP HIM."
Another very awesome thing that is made clear in Hebrews 1 is that it touches on the "job description" of angels.  God sends them out to minister, but they are not ministering to just anyone. Who are they ministering to?  Angels are among us, and they are ministering to the followers of Christ!

Hebrews 1:6

Hebrews 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?

What an amazing truth; God Created all things, and He created these amazing beings to minister to us! All angels have free will, just as we do, and the ones that are left to minister to His people are the ones that have worshipped God since their creation and did not fall prey to Lucifer's (formerly one of the most glorious angels of them all) deception .

Although the angels have the same free will as we do; they aren't extended the same "Grace" so to speak. The angels who rebelled with Lucifer were cast out of Heaven with Lucifer; and just like him, they will be condemned forever with no opportunity for redemption. We, on the other hand, have been extended amazing Grace, Mercy and Patience by our Creator. We have also rebelled against Him, yet in His amazing love for us, He has provided us a Way of Salvation.

Like Noah's flood, Jesus Blood covers past mistakes. God's desire is that all be saved, yet not all will....why?  Because, like Satan (formerly Lucifer), they want to do things their way, not God's Way.
Hebrews 1:9 YOU HAVE LOVED RIGHTEOUSNESS AND HATED LAWLESSNESS; THEREFORE GOD, YOUR GOD, HAS ANOINTED YOU WITH THE OIL OF GLADNESS MORE THAN YOUR COMPANIONS."
