Should we worship angels?

Who does Salvation belong to?

If you could “earn” it, you would have a part in ownership and it would, in part, belong to you.

Who does the Glory belong to?

If you were able to do anything to merit eternal life, you could share in part of the glory.

Who does honor and power belong to?

If you had the power to save and were completely worthy of honor, part of the honor and power would belong to you.  However, since you and I are not able to save ourselves, we can do nothing to merit eternal life, we have no power over evil and have become altogether worthless…NONE OF IT BELONGS TO US! So, who does all of this belong to?

Revelation 19:1 After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, "Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God!

Many people have said, “How can a good God send people to hell” OR “I don’t believe in a God that would send people to hell” OR “My God wouldn’t send anyone to hell”. The truth is, whether you believe in gravity or not, the result will be the same if you step in to an open stair case. The same is true of God’s Judgment; not only is hell real, and not only will many end up there, but God is Righteous in His Judgment:

Revelation 19:2 For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her."

As we continue in Revelation 19 we find yet another “title” and “description” of God:

Revelation 19:5-6 Then a voice came from the throne, saying, "Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!" 6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, "Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!

Omnipotent
OMNIP'OTENT, a. [supra.]

1. Almighty; possessing unlimited power; all powerful. The being that can create worlds must be omnipotent.

2. Having unlimited power of a particular kind; as omnipotent love.

In verse 9 the angel instructs John to write something:

Revelation 19:9 Then he said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!' " And he said to me, "These are the true sayings of God."

John did not give any indication that the angel said this in a different way than the other things he was told, and he doesn’t say the angel looked any different….but what he does say is that he was rebuked for his response. There are many today that worship angels and put angels in a status that is not only forbidden, but the angels themselves rebuke this elevation:

Revelation 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."

Then we are given an amazing picture of Jesus. No longer the spotless Lamb to be slain for the sin of the world….He already did that. Now He will show Himself to be who He has been since the beginning when everything was created through Him: Faithful, True, Lord, King, and, yes, He will be delivering the Wrath of God.

Revelation 19:11-16 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

Imagine a population so deceived that they would attempt to make war against Jesus, yet that is exactly what has been going on since the beginning and that is what will happen when this whole deal is wrapped up:

Revelation 19:19 And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army.

I don’t know what the difference is between dying and then going to hell and being thrown in to hell alive, but apparently there is because the beast and the false prophet will be cast in to hell alive:

Revelation 19:20  Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.

After the beast and the false prophet are cast in to hell the rest of the rebellion will be killed by Word of His mouth and  become food for the birds:

Revelation 19:21 And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.
