Everyone needs to know this Truth (Hell is real)

After the fun (but chaotic) few days of celebrating Christmas with family I was taking it easy last night enjoying a cup of coffee, checking emails, and browsing around Facebook and YouTube. It was one of those things where you get on a “thread” and two hours later you are still rolling on the same “thread”.  Well, last nights “thread” was more of a “broad road”. It was the “broad road” that led many to hell, but in God’s Grace and Mercy…and His desire to continue to warn His Creation of this horrific place He allowed them to not only get out of there, but He blessed them with the responsibility of warning people that hell is real.

Yesterday we celebrated the birth of Jesus. Yes, I understand that in all likelihood Jesus wasn’t born in December. I also understand that maybe the origins of the Christmas celebration are not glorifying to God. However, for me, I was celebrating the birth of my Savior and Lord. Many of us have spent the last couple days singing old Christmas hymns, many of them we are so used to hearing and singing that we don’t really consider the words. Such as, “Christ and sinners reconciled”….or…”unto us a Savior is born”.

Why do we need to be reconciled?

What did He save us from?

Is everyone saved?

Do I need to be saved?

What if I don’t believe in all of this stuff?

Last night I watch several videos of people that have died and went to hell, had a vision of hell, or experienced hell in some way. These people now share their testimony with urgency and passion. I have included some of them below; you be the judge of their sincerity and reliability. There is no doubt that someone can be sincerely wrong; however, below the videos I have included verses from God’s Word describing the reality of hell and the urgency of “the rich man” to warn his brothers of this place. The point is, we can listen to these people and come to a conclusion, but at the end of the day, God has made it clear in His Word that not only is hell real, but many people that think they are Heaven bound will end up in hell. Whether you believe in hell or not does not change the truth that those that have not repented and put their faith in Jesus Christ will end up in this place of eternal torment. I am not trying to scare anyone out of hell, because the Truth is, no one comes to the Son lest the Father draws him; I am only warning people of this place that they would consider their eternal destination and call out to God to open their eyes to the Truth.

When we read the Bible we see words and phrases like, “God’s Wrath”, “perish”, “death”, “hell”, “demons”, “the devil”, and “sin”. Here’s how it all ties together:

Hell is a real place created for the devil and all his demons; however, because we have sinned against God He considers us “sons of disobedience” and we deserve to perish, we deserve to die eternally. However, this doesn’t mean we cease to exist, this means that we will be cast in to the lake of fire, where the fire is not quenched and the worm never dies. When we understand this Truth it makes the most recognized verse in the Bible that much more powerful:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Check out this paraphrase of John 3:16: Because of your sin, you deserve eternal torment in hell, but God loves you so much that He provided a Way for you to be redeemed from your sin. That Way is the shed Blood of His Son, Jesus Christ; if you will believe in Him (a belief so strong that it leads to surrender and obedience to Him) He will give eternal life in Heaven, instead of what you deserve, eternal hell.

Ephesians 5:6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

Revelation 21:8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."

Revelation 20:14-15 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

Luke 16:19 "There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day. 20 But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, 21 desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 "Then he cried and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.' 25 But Abraham said, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented. 26 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.' 27 "Then he said, 'I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father's house, 28 for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.' 29 Abraham said to him, 'They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.' 30 And he said, 'No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.' 31 But he said to him, 'If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.' "

Deuteronomy 32:22 For a fire is kindled in My anger, And shall burn to the lowest hell; It shall consume the earth with her increase, And set on fire the foundations of the mountains.

Psalm 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, And all the nations that forget God.

Psalm 55:15 Let death seize them; Let them go down alive into hell, For wickedness is in their dwellings and among them.

Proverbs 7:27 Her house is the way to hell, Descending to the chambers of death.

Proverbs 15:24 The way of life winds upward for the wise, That he may turn away from hell below.

Proverbs 27:20 Hell and Destruction are never full; So the eyes of man are never satisfied.

Matthew 5:21-30 "You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'YOU SHALL NOT MURDER, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.' 22 But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, 'Raca!' shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, 'You fool!' shall be in danger of hell fire. 23 Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. 25 Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him, lest your adversary deliver you to the judge, the judge hand you over to the officer, and you be thrown into prison. 26 Assuredly, I say to you, you will by no means get out of there till you have paid the last penny. 27 "You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY.' 28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.

Matthew 7:2023 Therefore by their fruits you will know them. 21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' 23 And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'

Matthew 10:28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Matthew 23:15 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.

Matthew 23:33 Serpents, brood of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell?

2Peter 2:1-22 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber. 4 For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; 5 and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; 6 and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly; 7 and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked 8 (for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds)—9 then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment, 10 and especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority. They are presumptuous, self-willed. They are not afraid to speak evil of dignitaries, 11 whereas angels, who are greater in power and might, do not bring a reviling accusation against them before the Lord. 12 But these, like natural brute beasts made to be caught and destroyed, speak evil of the things they do not understand, and will utterly perish in their own corruption, 13 and will receive the wages of unrighteousness, as those who count it pleasure to carouse in the daytime. They are spots and blemishes, carousing in their own deceptions while they feast with you, 14 having eyes full of adultery and that cannot cease from sin, enticing unstable souls. They have a heart trained in covetous practices, and are accursed children. 15 They have forsaken the right way and gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; 16 but he was rebuked for his iniquity: a dumb donkey speaking with a man's voice restrained the madness of the prophet. 17 These are wells without water, clouds carried by a tempest, for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever. 18 For when they speak great swelling words of emptiness, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through lewdness, the ones who have actually escaped from those who live in error. 19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage. 20 For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. 21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. 22 But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: "A DOG RETURNS TO HIS OWN VOMIT," and, "a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire."
